Hole ZFDDH10-013 was drilled 100 metres east of previously reported drill hole ZFRC10-046 (70m @ 0.36% Cu), along the northern fence of drill holes completed to date. The significant copper intercept found here (71m @ 1.78% Cu) indicates that the high-grade core of the deposit remains open to the north.
Hole ZFDDH10-014 was drilled 100 metres north of previously reported drill hole ZFDDH10-12 (144m @ 0.68% Cu) and shows that the western extension of the Zafranal main zone remains open.
Holes ZFRC10-055 and ZFRC10-056 targeted one of two geophysical anomalies identified to the east of the Main Zone, over 1.1km east of the easternmost drill hole completed by the Company to date.
Tom Henricksen, Chief Geologist for Minera KoriTambo states, "We are very pleased with these results. Hole 13 (ZFDDH10-013) contains the best grade based on combined Cu-Au that the Company has announced to date."
KoriTambo can acquire an initial 51% interest in the Zafranal copper-gold porphyry project from Teck Cominco Peru S.A. ("Teck"), subject to Teck's right to earn-back to a 60% interest. The agreement also provides options for KoriTambo to increase its interest to 60% and to 100% if Teck does not exercise its earn-back right.
The Company has established a rigorous QA/QC program at Zafranal which includes the insertion of blanks, duplicates and certified standards into the sample stream. Core is photographed on site and subsequently sawed in half, with one half sent for analysis and the other half stored for future reference and assay verification. RC chips are split twice on site using a riffle splitter, with 25% of the sample being sent to the laboratory for assay and the rest stored for future verification purposes. All Zafranal samples are shipped to ALS Chemex´s sample preparation facility in the city of Arequipa, where they are crushed and pulverized. Prepared samples are shipped to ALS Chemex´s certified laboratory in Lima where they are analysed for gold, copper and multi-element ICP.
Dr. Tom Henricksen, consultant geologist of the Company and Chief Geologist for Minera KoriTambo, the Company's Qualified Person for the purposes of NI 43-101, has approved the information contained in this news release.
