From police officers to construction workers, virtually any industry with a mobile workforce can benefit from having Push-to-Talk Over Cellular (PoC) solutions. Traditionally, Push-to-Talk (PTT) communication has been primarily supported by Land Mobile Radio (LMR) networks, however, the increase in demand for PoC and the rapid growth in technology has hugely expanded the opportunities for PoC.
According to data collected from a VDC Research survey, PTT communications are either important or critical to 95.5%. of mobile frontline workers.
Many PoC end-users prefer this communication method because the majority of their day is spent in a vehicle. PoC exists to make their lives a little easier on the road. It allows them to communicate with a single individual or multiple groups at the push of a button.
PoC solutions provide its end-users with improved productivity, enhanced collaboration, and a safer work environment. However, the biggest incentive for organizations to use PoC is its cost-saving structure. The acquisition of radios for traditional LMR networks is more costly than using a PoC solution, conveniently available on both Verizon Wireless and AT&T, two of America’s largest carrier networks.
With an estimated 24 million vehicles currently in use in America, the opportunities for in-vehicle PoC are endless.
